April 12, 2018
Connect 202 Partners was recently presented with the 2018 Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award by the WTS Metropolitan Phoenix Chapter as “an organization that is being bold in its commitment to award more than $100 million to disadvantaged firms on the South Mountain Freeway project.” According to WTS:
The WTS Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award honors individuals and organizations for being bold in their support and promotion of diversity, inclusiveness, and multicultural awareness within their organization, the transportation industry or in a project or activity that supports the WTS diversity goals and mission.
Connect 202 Partners, LLC (C202P) has developed a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Utilization Plan to do just that on the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway project, the largest highway project in the state’s history. C202P has a goal and commitment to award more than $100 million to DBE firms including minority- and women-owned small businesses through the duration of the project. To date, C202P has engaged more than 71 minority-owned firms and 25 women-owned firms to work on the project, totaling more than $66 million in contract awards to design and construction subconsultants or subcontractors.
WTS Metropolitan Phoenix Chapter was launched in 1985 with the goal of creating an environment that encourages the advancement of women in the transportation industry. While the Chapter started out small, today it has more than 160 individual members and the support of key transportation leaders across the Valley.
C202P is proud of our efforts to engage and support minority- and women-owned businesses as well as the local economy, and we are honored to be recognized for those efforts by WTS Metropolitan Phoenix Chapter.
